Marcus Weyll

Marcus Weyll is Global Chief Executive Officer of Imbono, the Gemcorp Group’s operating platform focused on developing, delivering and operating strategic infrastructure and essential services across emerging markets, with a strong presence in Africa and the Middle East.

Marcus brings more than two decades of experience across infrastructure development, project finance and business leadership in emerging economies. Born and raised in Brazil, he has spent his entire career in emerging markets, living and working in multiple countries in Latin America and, for the past 15 years, Africa. This experience has shaped his belief that the most effective infrastructure solutions come from combining international capital and expertise with local knowledge.

His career spans mergers and acquisitions, complex financing structures, concessions and public–private partnerships, as well as operational management of large-scale infrastructure projects in the energy, mining and logistics sectors.

Until 2019, Marcus served as Chief Financial Officer for the international business of Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção (OEC), where he oversaw financing, investment structuring and business development across global markets.

Marcus began his career in financial services, working with institutions including BankBoston, Bank of America and BNP Paribas before transitioning into the infrastructure sector. Today, he combines financial expertise with operational experience to support Imbono’s mission of delivering sustainable infrastructure and essential services in fast-growing emerging economies.
