Chris Chapman

Chris Chapman is Chief Investment Officer at Imbono, where he is responsible for the investment, financing, and structuring solutions that underpin the company’s strategy across emerging markets.

Chris brings more than 25 years of experience as both a lawyer and financier, with deep expertise in emerging markets credit structuring and structured trade finance. He began his career at Clifford Chance before joining Credit Suisse, where he first worked as senior in-house counsel before moving into the bank’s Emerging Markets private credit structuring team.

Over the course of his career, Chris has developed extensive financing, commercial and origination experience across emerging markets, including Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Turkey. His longstanding work in these markets has given him a deep appreciation for their dynamism and the opportunities they present for well-structured capital.

Chris holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge.
